Arthur Kill Press, LLC is a small press I founded in 2021 to provide on-site mentorship, teaching, tutoring, editing, and personal development to incarcerated, institutionalized, and at-risk youth and adults. Named after an industrial Staten Island waterway running along its southeast coast, it retains the Old Dutch word for “tributary” or “stream.” Behind the scenes, AKP is a publishing placeholder, while doing the advocacy work necessary to address and remove legal and Constitutional personhood barriers to publishing the writing of currently incarcerated people.
